Jennifer and Joe Bartolotta from The Bartolotta Restaurants Honored with Award of Merit by Wisconsin Restaurant Association

Jennifer and Joe Bartolotta with The Bartolotta Restaurants were honored as the Award of Merit recipients by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association (WRA) for their many contributions to the restaurant industry in Wisconsin.

The WRA Awards Committee selected the Bartolottas as this year’s winners to acknowledge their commitment to the association, communities in the Milwaukee area and the foodservice industry in Wisconsin.

Joe Bartolotta currently serves on the WRA Board of Directors and supports WRA events and programs. Both Jennifer and Joe have been passionate supporters of the ProStart® program in four Milwaukee Public Schools. ProStart is a nationwide, two-year curriculum and mentoring program designed to introduce high school students to the skills needed for a career in the restaurant and foodservice industry. The ProStart program in Wisconsin is overseen by the WRA Education Foundation.

The restaurants owned and operated by The Bartolotta Restaurants consistently garner positive rave reviews and awards, which is also positive for the image of the restaurant industry in Wisconsin. Beyond the obvious success in their fields, Jennifer and Joe’s willingness to share their knowledge, experience and passion with the next generation of foodservice leaders has had a profound impact. This has been achieved by offering employees rewarding jobs, nurturing talent by providing opportunities for growth - and in recent years, serving as ambassadors and role models to Milwaukee area ProStart students in the classroom and beyond.

Through Care-a-Lotta, the philanthropic arm of the restaurant group, they have found creative and meaningful ways to support local charities and have empowered employees to get involved in funding decisions, making volunteerism a company-wide priority.

They were presented the Award of Merit at the 2018 WRA Awards Gala, held on March 13th at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee.
