Local Restaurant Owner Honored As Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year

Claudia Draganowski, of Draganetti’s Ristorante, Taverna Grill & the Enchanted Inn in Eau Claire, is being honored as Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year (OROY) by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association (WRA) West Wisconsin Chapter, made up of Buffalo, Chippewa, Clark, Eau Claire and Jackson counties. The OROY award is given by fellow members of the West Wisconsin Chapter based on success in business, community service and dedication to the restaurant industry.

The OROY award was presented to Draganowski on February 5th at a WRA chapter meeting held in Eau Claire. A Legislative Citation was also presented to Draganowski at the meeting.

On Tuesday, March 14th, Draganowski will also be honored with a commendation medal at the 2017 WRA Awards Dinner gala, taking place at The Hilton Milwaukee City Center in Milwaukee.

Draganowski first exposure to the restaurant industry was growing up in her family-owned restaurant and resort in northern Wisconsin. Through this experience, Draganowski was provided the opportunity to work as a Chef as well as in the front of the house serving, hosting and anything else that was needed at any given moment.

Draganowski has been actively involved in the WRA West Wisconsin chapter since first becoming a member in the 1980’s and is a frequent attendee of the State Board of Directors meetings. Claudia is an active supporter of WRA-endorsed candidates, the Salute to Excellence, the WRA Education Foundation and dedicates her time and knowledge to mentoring high school students enrolled in the ProStart® program.

Relentless and tireless in her work ethic, Draganowski strives for perfection ensuring nothing leaves the kitchen without being exemplary. She is the epitome of the independent restaurateur, starting from the bottom and rising to the top while remaining humble and teaching others along the way. Draganowski is very active in the community, always eater to help in any way whether within or outside of her restaurants.

WRA represents a broad range of foodservice operations and is dedicated to advocacy, education and communication for the restaurant industry. For more information, visit www.wirestaurant.org.
