Local Restaurant Owner Honored As Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year
David Heide, from Liliana’s Restaurant and Charlie’s on Main in Madison, is being honored as the Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year (OROY) by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association (WRA) Madison Chapter, made up of Dane and Jefferson counties. The OROY award is given by fellow members of the Madison Chapter based on success in business, community service and dedication to the restaurant industry.
The OROY award was presented to Heide on February 20th at a WRA chapter meeting held at the Radisson Hotel in Madison. A Legislative Citation was also presented to Heide at the meeting.
On Tuesday, March 14th, Heide will also be honored with a commendation medal at the 2017 WRA Awards Dinner gala, taking place at Hilton Milwaukee City Center in Milwaukee.
Heide has worked in the restaurant industry for 19 years, starting out at the Chocolate Shoppe in Madison. He currently is the owner of Liliana’s Restaurant, a Cajun style restaurant; and the new restaurant in Oregon, Charlie’s on Main.
Heide is very involved in the community and lends his support to many non-profit organizations and events. He also has helped support the ProStart program through mentoring culinary students at Verona High School.
Heide lives in Madison with his wife Tiffany and has three children: Liliana, Charlie and John Parry.
