CORRECTING THE RECORD: WISCONSIN RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION BACKS ED BROOKS IN REEDSBURG-AREA ASSEMBLY RACE
MADISON – A November 4th article by reporter Heather Stanek of the Reedsburg Times-Press suggested that the Wisconsin Restaurant Association had endorsed candidate Art Shrader in the 50th Assembly District, against incumbent Ed Brooks. This is not true.
The Wisconsin Restaurant Association supported Art Shrader as the best candidate in the Democratic primary for the 50th Assembly District, back in June. In August, WRA’s board of directors chose to support Rep. Ed Brooks for reelection in the general election contest.
“WRA stands behind Ed Brooks,” said president and CEO Ed Lump. “Art Shrader was clearly the better candidate in the Democratic primary in August, but he doesn’t have an extensive voting record in favor of small business – like Ed Brooks has.
“The small business community knows they have a champion in Representative Ed Brooks, while they see some potential in Art Shrader,” Lump said. “There is a big difference.”
