Steve Sazama Honored with Award of Merit by Wisconsin Restaurant Association
Steve Sazama, also known as Saz, was honored by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association with the Award of Merit for his many contributions to the restaurant industry in Wisconsin.
Sazama has been in the restaurant business for nearly 40 years. His restaurant business started with the original Saz’s location on State Street in Milwaukee and now includes Saz’s Festivals, Saz’s Catering, Saz’s BBQ products, Sasama’s Fine Catering at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and a partnership with the Green Bay Packers. Saz’s is known for its signature favorites including ribs, BBQ pork sandwiches, mozzarella sticks and sour cream & chive fries served by friendly, dedicated employees who are part of the Saz’s family. Saz’s is best known for making delicious memories for thousands of people at Summerfest, the State Fair, countless festivals and tailgating at Lambeau Field.
Sazama believes in the importance of education and has shown his support for the Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation through his donations to an Endowment Fund. He also has generously donated time and money to help support local charitable organizations including the Variety Club, Boys & Girls Club and the Wisconsin State Fair Youth Foundation.
Sazama was presented the Award of Merit at the 2014 WRA Awards Dinner gala, held on March 11th at Potawatomi Bingo Casino in Milwaukee.
