Food Code Changes
Changes to Wisconsin Food Code go into effect September 1

New requirements for the Wisconsin Food Code will take effect on September 1, 2013.

The changes have been in the works for over three years and have been carefully deliberated by representatives from our industry and regulators. WRA had a seat at the table during these important discussions to ensure that the new requirements were based on sound science, smart business practices and consumer safety.

To help you understand the major changes to the Food Code, WRA created a quick reference guide (published February 2013).

Most of the new concepts shouldn’t be a surprise, as they have been incorporated into ServSafe training since the 2009 FDA Food Code was adopted. To learn more about ServSafe food safety certification, visit www.wirestaurant.org/servsafe.
