ProStart® Skills Challenge

PS_Skills_ChallengeWe know students have talent! And now, there’s a fun opportunity for students to show off those skills and put their knowledge to the test! Join us for our first-ever at home ProStart Skills Challenge, a series of 10 interactive mini competitions focusing on core culinary skills & hospitality management concepts. Even sweeter? Students can win cool prizes and bragging rights. 

These virtual mini competitions will feature a variety of challenges and formats, including videos, photos and print. Challenges will run January through May and are free for schools. 

Each school can submit up to 2 submissions for each distinct competition. Challenges will be either individual-based – meaning 1 student per submission OR team-based – meaning 2-4 students per submission. 

Let the competition—and fun—begin!

TIKTOK COOK-OFF 
The art of cooking is all about practical application – so let’s see what you can do! For this challenge, individuals or teams will have to create a TikTok highlighting a cooking technique of their choice. 

KNOWLEDGE BOWL 
The ultimate test of culinary arts & hospitality management concepts. This individual trivia challenge will feature ProStart concepts, with prizes up for grabs!

KNOW YOUR KNIFE CUTS? 
Knife cuts are an essential culinary skill that takes time & practice to hone in on. What better way to practice those skills than this virtual knife cut challenge where students will highlight their knife cutting skills via video for judging. 

MASTER THE MENU DESIGN CONTEST 
Think you’ve got the design skills to create a restaurant menu? Put those skills to the test in this challenge to create the perfect looking menu featuring three menu items.
